Oolong Peach Iced Tea Slushie (Blended)

Jump to Recipe ↓

This blended oolong peach slushie is the ideal way to show off high-oxidation oolong's natural stone-fruit character. Darker, roasted oolongs – think Da Hong Pao or Dong Ding – bring notes of apricot, nectarine and honey that meld beautifully with frozen peach. A good personal blender turns chilled tea, frozen fruit and ice into a thick, scoopable texture in seconds, no ice-crusher attachment or food processor required.

Unlike watery iced tea, a slushie holds its chill for longer and delivers concentrated flavour in every spoonful. Brew your oolong hot to extract the full depth, chill it completely, then blitz with frozen peach chunks, ice and a drizzle of honey. The result is a frosty, café-style drink that's ready in under ten minutes – perfect for hot July afternoons or summer entertaining.

Instructions

1
Brew & Chill: Brew 150 ml of roasted oolong using boiling water and a 3-minute steep. Strain and chill completely in the fridge (or speed-chill by pouring over tea ice cubes in a jug, then straining off the melted ice).
2
Combine Ingredients: Pour the chilled tea into your personal blender jug. Add the frozen peach chunks, ice cubes and honey.
3
Blend to Slushie: Secure the lid and pulse on high for 20–30 seconds, or until the mixture reaches a thick, scoopable slushie consistency. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed, then pulse again.
4
Serve: Pour (or spoon) into a tall glass. Garnish with a fresh peach slice if you like, and serve immediately with a straw or spoon.

🫖 Equipment You'll Need

A personal blender with a powerful motor (at least 300 W) is essential for blitzing frozen fruit and ice into a smooth, evenly textured slushie without leaving icy chunks. Compact single-serve blenders are ideal for one or two drinks and clean up in seconds – no need to wrestle with a full-size jug for a quick summer refreshment.

Expert Tip: Freeze Your Own Peaches

Fresh British peaches in season are often softer and more fragrant than imported frozen bags. Halve, stone and chop ripe peaches, then freeze on a tray for 2–3 hours. Use straight from the freezer for maximum slushie thickness and flavour.
