Instructions
1
Make the Puree: Place strawberries and sweetener in a glass. Use a muddler or fork to crush them into a chunky jam. For a smoother look, use a blender. Spoon this red mixture into the bottom of your serving glass.
2
Prep the Glass: Fill the glass (on top of the puree) to the brim with ice cubes. This is crucial for keeping the layers separate.
3
Add Milk: Pour the milk over the ice until the glass is about 3/4 full. Watch the white milk swirl with the red puree.
4
Whisk & Float: In a separate bowl, whisk the matcha and hot water until frothy and lump-free. Slowly pour the green matcha shot over the ice. The ice will slow the pour, allowing the green tea to float on top of the white milk.
Expert Tip: Why Oat Milk?
While you can use dairy, Oat Milk is the barista standard for this drink. Its natural sweetness complements the fruit, and its density is perfect for supporting the matcha layer on top without mixing immediately.
