Green Tea Shot Recipe: The Party Classic (No Tea Involved!)

It is the most confusingly named drink in the bar world. The "Green Tea Shot" contains absolutely zero green tea. It gets its name solely from its appearance: a translucent, pale green hue that mimics a cup of chilled Sencha.

Invented by the Jameson whiskey company, this shooter is fruity, sweet, and dangerously smooth. It tastes like a peach gummy ring, making it a crowd favorite for people who claim they "don't like whiskey."

Instructions

1
Prep the Shaker: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes.
2
Pour: Add the Whiskey, Peach Schnapps, and Sour Mix. Do not add the soda yet (carbonation creates pressure and will make the shaker explode).
3
Shake: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. You want the drink to be ice-cold and slightly diluted.
4
Strain & Top: Strain the mixture evenly into two shot glasses. Top each glass with a splash of soda for fizz. Serve immediately.

Expert Tip: Make Your Own Sour Mix

Store-bought sour mix is often syrupy and artificial. For a "Gold Standard" shot, mix equal parts Fresh Lemon Juice, Fresh Lime Juice, and Simple Syrup. This makes the drink taste brighter, fresher, and less cloying.
